Happy Easter

I am not always good at explaining myself and how I feel about the miracle of the resurrection and how truly indebted I am to my Savior Jesus Christ. In my hearts deepest gratitude I often find a loss of words. But my soul finds companionship and familiarity in the Prophets words below:

President Gordon B. Hinckley

“Then dawned the first day of the week, the Sabbath of the Lord as we have come to know it. To those who came to the tomb, heavy with sorrow, the attending angel declared, ‘Why seek ye the living among the dead?’ (Luke 24:5).

“‘He is not here: … he is risen, as he said’ (Matt. 28:6).

“Here was the greatest miracle of human history. Earlier He had told them, ‘I am the resurrection, and the life’ (John 11:25). But they had not understood. Now they knew. He had died in misery and pain and loneliness. Now, on the third day, He arose in power and beauty and life, the firstfruits of all who slept, the assurance for men of all ages that ‘as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive’ (1 Cor. 15:22).

“On Calvary He was the dying Jesus. From the tomb He emerged the Living Christ. The cross had been the bitter fruit of Judas’s betrayal, the summary of Peter’s denial. The empty tomb now became the testimony of His divinity, the assurance of eternal life, the answer to Job’s unanswered question: ‘If a man die, shall he live again?’ (Job 14:14). …

“And so, because our Savior lives, we do not use the symbol of His death as the symbol of our faith. But what shall we use? No sign, no work of art, no representation of form is adequate to express the glory and the wonder of the Living Christ. He told us what that symbol should be when He said, ‘If ye love me, keep my commandments’ (John 14:15).

“As His followers, we cannot do a mean or shoddy or ungracious thing without tarnishing His image. Nor can we do a good and gracious and generous act without burnishing more brightly the symbol of Him whose name we have taken upon ourselves. And so our lives must become a meaningful expression, the symbol of our declaration of our testimony of the Living Christ, the Eternal Son of the Living God” (“The Symbol of Our Faith,” Liahona and Ensign, Apr. 2005, 4–6).

These words are dear to my heart, oh how I love President Hinckley!

Snow Man

We did it again we waited a month to update the BLOG, but for good reason. Our Camera Cord (charger) was left at my parents when we were visiting them at Christmas time. But alas we found our old camera hence the quality of the pictures and video. But none the less WE DID IT! Yay!

I am 9 months

Here it is folks! I am 9 months now. I crawl everywhere, pull my self up to stand, babble, walk (only with my walker), and like to eat small finger foods! I am a big boy. My favorite team is the Utah Jazz as you can see. My Uncle Todd gave me my cool Jersey and sweet kicks (that I will grow into). (:

prep·o·si·tion

Under the table, in the basket, standing by the couch. Let's just say Hayden is a busy, busy boy and on the move. He wants to be in, over, and on everything. He loves to investigate what ever catches his attention, is very proud of his new found independence which includes holding his own bottle and climbing up to a standing position.

He is all boy!!

Sorry the pictures are so dark (:

27 Years Young

All Erin wanted for her Birthday was a night out... I guess we've got that point where time is hard to come by and can be just as nice as most gifts. We went to Takara Sushi and got some sushi rolls, went and saw Toy Story 3 and ended up at Coldstone where we got Erin a ice cream birthday cake. She ate the whole thing! O.k. she didn't but it was good.

I love you birthday girl!

Happy Halloween!

I think it was this past March when Erin figured out what she wanted Hayden to be for Halloween - The Jazz Bear. By far, Halloween is Erin's favorite holiday of the year. By next week, she'll already have ideas for our costumes next year. Even though I give her a lot of grief sometimes, I really appreciate all the effort she puts into things like this that make it fun and memorable, especially for Hayden. Erin was Dora the Explorer, I was Handy Manny with a beard, Lady Gaga was there,Charlotte was a Zebra and Hayden, The Jazz Bear. We enjoyed spending time with Britney,Kevin, and Erin's family. We had some good food, got out kit-kat on, got trapped in a hail storm, and took Hayden trick or treating for the first time.

Help me kick the stuffing out of Cancer

Hey Ya'll

This is my first time doing something like this and I am a little nervous. I signed up to run a 5k for a Charity and volunteered to raise a minumin of $100.00 for Huntsman Cancer Institute. Part of the reason I am scared is because my friend scared me with a horror story of doing this same thing and being unable to raise anything.

Keep in mind $2.00 is a donation. Also if I get 10 people to donate $10.00 that is $100.00. Anyhow thanks so much! Love you all!

26.2

This is way over due, but I wanted Erin to know how proud I am of her for running the St. George Marathon in almost 100 degree weather! She is my hero and has been so determined the past few months to be in good enough shape to finish this race. I know it is something that Erin has looked forward to for a long time and there were many times when she wanted to give up. Erin, what makes me most proud is that you never gave up even though I know the thought crossed your mind probably every time you ran. You accomplished something I can't do and many other people would be just crazy to do :) Your a great example of what hard work, determination, and a lot of sweat, tape, gum, gu, books on tape, and lots of running can do.

Love you my little runner

My two brothers Clayton and Cameron and sister-in-law Jenny also ran in the St. George Marathon. They all did an awesome job and made me think about running a marathon one day for just a second, then I remembered - somebody has to take pictures, cheer them on, and watch the kid... DARN!

David Hasselhoff

My first time in the pool! Loved every minute of it.

Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?"

While we were waiting for the Judge, I told Hayden that this better be the only time he sees the inside of a courtroom. Our Attorney tried not to take offense to that. It was a quick process and after a testimony by our wonderful case worker, Charity, and a short testimony by Erin and I as to our experience with Hayden and being parents, the Judge saw us "fit" to have all legal rights and custody of our little man. The Judge came down afterwards, held Hayden, and posed for a picture.

Case Closed!

I'm Tickled Pink... 6 Months

Well Hayden you've survived your kooky parents for the first months, that definitely should deserve an award. Let's make a deal - Let us take your picture AGAIN by the bear and then we'll let you eat it. Sound fair? You are the cutest, cuddliest, coolest, little boy any parents could ever ask for.

Love you stinky,

Mom and Dad

5 Months old!!!!!!

Wow Hayden is Finally 5 months old. Only 1 more month and we will be sealed to him. I can hardly wait!!!! He is growing so fast and getting more adorable every minute. His personality shines, he loves to smile, laugh, and talk. We are just not sure what he is saying yet. Occasionally he gets a little grumpy, he has a little tooth trying to come in. Most of the time he is a very happy guy and he makes us smile and laugh. The other can barely leave the room before one of us says "wait come here Hayden is doing this." or "hun you have to come see this." He certainly holds center stage around here. Poor Regis (: Although Hayden has started to notice his dog and finds him very interesting, he smiles at Regis a lot. Regis still seems uninterested, or is it just jealousy. Oh our fun little family! I am blessed.
